A successful Conferencing & Training Company based in Randburg is looking for an experienced Sponsorship Manager to join their team. The Sponsorship Manager will work as a team with the Marketing and the Production Team.

Main function: To on-board sponsors and exhibitors for a number of new and annual events. Our sponsorship sales team identifies and matches these opportunities with the best sponsors. Sponsorship managers are responsible for selling sponsorship opportunities to senior-level executives of public and private sector companies.  You will also work closely with other departments including production, marketing, finance, and sales.

Principal responsibilities:

  • Researching the potential market and sourcing leads
  • Sell exhibition and sponsorship packages for a number of events
  • Cold calling and relationship building
  • Produce detailed customized proposals for potential sponsors
  • Researching companies to identify opportunities for events
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Have knowledge of working with vendors and solution providers
  • Driven to perform to deadlines and have an eye for detail
  • Be able to travel to events and assist on-site

Requirements:

  • A University Degree in a related field (or equivalent relevant job experience)
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Previous work within a sponsorship or fundraising position
  • A background in event sponsorship or sales will be an advantage
  • Proven negotiating and people skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
  • The ability to be self-motivated and meet many critical deadlines efficiently
  • A desire to work in a constantly changing environment
  • A background in IT would be a bonus
