We are looking for a responsible Project Coordinator to administer and organize all types of projects, from simple activities to more complex plans.
A Project Coordinator is a professional who is often involved in the day-to-day operations of their assigned projects. They organize and communicate details related to a specific assignment or task while serving as an interface between team members and managers.
Responsibilities
- Research conference topics, recruit speakers and manage the conference on the day.
- Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
- Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes
- Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
- Make sure that clients’ needs are met as projects evolve
- Analyse risks and opportunities
- Oversee project procurement management in terms of budget
- Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
- Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
- Issue all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g. contracts and terms of agreement)
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
Requirements and skills
- Own transport is essential
- A background in journalism, Public Relations, Communication, Sponsorship or Sales will be an advantage.
- Excellent research skills
- Good communication Skills especially telephonic efficiency
- Excellent written and public speaking skills
- In-depth knowledge of neighbouring Countries for conference planning across Africa.
- Performance driven to meet deadlines and attention to detail.
- Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role
- Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
- Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
